Menopause in the Workplace

Menopause can significantly impact an employee’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being, and addressing it through targeted nutrition can reduce symptoms and improve overall health. By offering menopause support, companies can enhance employee engagement, reduce absenteeism, and promote a more inclusive work environment.

The Importance of Menopause Support at Work

Menopause is a natural life stage that affects around 51% of the population, typically between the ages of 45 and 55. Symptoms like hot flushes, mood swings, fatigue, and difficulty concentrating can affect performance and well-being at work.

Nutrition plays a vital role in managing these symptoms and improving quality of life.

Recent research highlights the need for workplace menopause support:

  • 77% of women experience one or more symptoms that impact their work, with many feeling unsupported (Fawcett Society Survey, 2022).

  • 1 in 10 women leave the workforce due to severe menopause symptoms, often due to a lack of adequate support in the workplace (Nuffield Health Survey, 2022).

  • With more women staying in the workforce longer, it’s estimated that by 2025, 1 in 6 women of working age will be going through menopause (The Demography of Menopause, 2022).

Offering targeted nutrition services to support women during this life stage can lead to better health outcomes and productivity, helping employers retain experienced, skilled staff.
